On Saturday, Sept. 16, graduates of the junior horsemanship classes at Summit Valley Horse Center showed off their skills to their friends and family.
In a three-day intensive class during summer vacation, students learned how to care for horses and some basic riding skills.
During the days, students learned how to clean up after a horse; how to lead, groom and saddle a horse; and a little about horse psychology.

In the afternoon, volunteers led adoptable horses around the obstacle course to demonstrate to potential adopters how much the horses have learned over the summer.
