Summit welcomes Islamic speaker

A speaker from the Islamic community in Denver will speak about Islam and answer questions this Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at the Buffalo Room near the main library in the County Commons. The format chosen for this event by the speaker, Taj Ashaheed, is a give-and-take, conversational one which will permit the audience members to easliy ask questions. Because Islam is so intertwined with terrorism in the news these days this is an unusual opportunity for those of us up here in Summit County to learn from another source, a practicing Muslim. Mr. Ashaheed will also speak at the High Country Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning at the Senior Center. The public is invited to both presentations.
