On Thursday, Jan. 23, Sportswomen of Colorado announced the individuals that will be honored at its 51st Annual Awards Celebration.
Among the list of 40-plus athletes from all different sports is Summit County’s own, Ella Hagen. Hagen — who is four-time state champion in three different sports for Summit High School (Nordic, cross-country and track) — will be honored with the all-around sportswoman of the year award at this year’s annual award celebration.
The award is one of Sportswomen of Colorado’s eight special awards.
Beyond Hagen, the organization will honor individuals like Niwot High School’s Addy Ritzenhein, Colorado State University NCAA championship shot put thrower Mya Lesner and four-time Colorado girls state wrestling champion Persaeus Gomez.
The awards presentation will take place on March 9 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center.
