On every Sunday evening in July, the Lake Dillon Theatre’s Summer Musical Theatre performers will showcase their range and talent in the Summer Sunday Cabaret Series.

The Lake Dillon Theatre Company (LDTC) Cabaret Series offers concert engagements throughout the year, celebrating the music of Broadway and beyond while introducing Summit County to local and New York-based professional artists.

This Sunday, 10 members of the Summer Musical Theatre Company will take the LDTC stage for “Jukebox Musicals,” a night featuring songs from “Beautiful The Carol King Musical,” “Beatlemania,” “All Shook Up,” “Ring of Fire,” “Rock of Ages” and more.

WHY CABARET?

Originating in 19th century Paris, cabarets originally showcased poets and artists performing in tight spaces for audiences reveling in their one-of-a-kind comedy, burlesque and even sociopolitical satire. Today, cabaret is once again finding its footing among crowds seeking a more intimate and meaningful performance experience.

You may have already seen performances from the LDTC Summer Company in Kander and Ebb’s Musical, “Cabaret,” or at the Fourth of July concerts in Dillon and Breckenridge. However, the Summer Sunday Cabaret Series is different from the Kander and Ebb’s musical. These Sunday night revues differ from a fully produced musical theater performance because the performer herself or himself is part of the presentation.

Performers include Serge Clivio, Emily Dennis, EJ Dohring, Sarah Goeke, Jake Haynie, Marissa Hecker, Jessica Ice, Pedro Kaawaloa, Bob Moore and Emily Royer.

The performers will take the stage at the Lake Dillon Theatre Company on July 10 at 6.30 p.m. This talented summer company is only in Summit County for a short time.
