Superintendent search firm plans public forum

SUMMIT COUNTY – Ray and Associates Inc., the firm the Summit School District Board of Education hired to conduct a nationwide search for a new superintendent, has scheduled public forums to help the firm develop screening and selection criteria.

Meetings will take place April 14-15.

A Ray representative will take community comment regarding the qualities, attributes and background experiences of the ideal superintendent.

This will be one of several such meetings with a variety of audiences that includes district support staff, teachers, administrators, leadership of the Summit County Education Association, PTA leadership, the District Accountability Committee and school board members.

All citizens interested in helping the firm develop their search criteria are invited to attend.

Monday, April 14

– 7:30-8:30 a.m. – school board meeting, central office

– 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – meet with board members, central office

– 2-3:30 p.m. – meet with DAAC, central office

– 4-5 p.m. – support staff, central office

– 6-8:30 p.m. – general public at Silverthorne Elementary gym

Tuesday, April 15

– 7:30-9 a.m. – central office staff

– 9 a.m. to noon – Summit Leadership Forum, Mayors, Managers and Commissioners, central office

– 1-2 p.m. – administrative team, central office

– 2-3 p.m. – PTSA leadership at Summit Middle School, North Community Room

– 3-6 p.m. – teachers at the same place as above

– 7-8 p.m. – general public at same place as above
