Superintendent’s Spring Invitational art show opens today

Summit School District Superintendent’s Spring Invitational Art Show opens today at 4:30 p.m., and the public is invited to a reception honoring middle school students whose works are on display. The show features artwork by nearly 100 student artists from Summit Middle School. The reception will be at the district’s central administration offices in Frisco.The display, organized by art teacher Jane Buchanan, showcases works of art that are chosen based on student effort and demonstration of visual art concepts. Some of these concepts include style, color theory, composition, elements of design, principles of design, creative problem solving, and use of materials.Following the reception, the show will continue until the end of May. The public is invited to view the displayed artwork any weekday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
