Support of Referred Measure 1A means improved health care in the county

I support Referred Measure 1A, which will extend the existing open space and capital improvements property tax in Summit County.

Our community has expanding needs. Referred Measure 1A is NOT a new tax, yet it will increase local water projects, support recycling, purchase and maintain open space, and help establish a community health center.

As a volunteer nurse practitioner at the Summit Community Care Clinic (SCCC), I see first hand the importance of establishing a community health center.

The three times a week that SCCC is open it is overwhelmed with clients needing health care. Census data shows that 15.3 percent of Coloradans do not have health insurance.

A community health center provides citizens much needed access to affordable health care.
