Swan Mountain Bike Path would solve traffic issue

I couldn’t agree with you more that bikes don’t belong on Swan Mountain Road. They belong on the county funded rec path that should have been completed years ago. One section is done.

It really is quite nice. Maybe if some of the county commissioners didnt see this path completion as “pissing away money,” the path would have been competed by now. Instead we have a useless war on the local weeds.

I couldn’t agree with you more that Swan Mountain Road is very narrow with no shoulder to speak of. It sure seemed to get a lot narrower after the last repaving job where we seemed to loose about a foot of the shoulder on each side. I guess you expect me to ride my $2,000 road bike in the gravelso I don’t impede your swift travel.

As a cyclist that has pedalled over Swan Mountain Road just a few times, I am more concerned with my safety then you, because if you hit me, I am going to the hospital (at best) and the morgue (at worst).

If you really want cyclists off Swan Mountain Road, then start supporting the fund drive to complete the path either by coming to the upcoming fundraiser or by riding in the Bob Guthrie memorial ride on Aug. 10.
