Take the time to answer a survey online
For the next 30 days when you access the Summit Daily’s website at http://www.summitdaily.com, you might find yourself looking at a pop-up window. The newspaper is partnering with Belden and Associates, a Dallas-based research firm, to conduct a survey of its web readers. The newspaper plans to unveil a redesign of its website this summer.”We know that many readers don’t like pop-ups, and it’s not something we’ll routinely do on the website, but for about a month some readers of the site will see the survey in the pop-up window,” said publisher Jim Morgan.”We think it’s worth it to get information from online views so we can better understand their interest in our website and its content,” Morgan said. Belden works mainly with the newspaper industry on trends and analysis of local market behaviors. The survey won’t pop up every time someone accesses the website. Instead, it’s random.Anyone who takes the time to complete the survey is eligible to win a $1,000 cash giveaway. In January, the Summit Daily website and its companion eEdition totaled nearly three-quarters of a million page views.
