Take your foot off the accelerator, there’s no prize for getting there first

Cindy Keiser - Blue River

In response to letter-writer Jerry Wilson of Wildernest (SDN, Aug. 29) – unclench your glutes. Are you really saying that you would choose to injure a person because he or she is on a bike and in a place you feel they don’t belong?

The issue isn’t bicycles versus cars, we’re talking about people. People do stupid things – people in cars, people on bikes, people walking.

It’s irritating, but it certainly doesn’t justify spouting violence. Take your foot off the accelerator, roll down the window, breathe. There’s no prize for getting there first.

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
