Target’s fireworks tonight will not be as grand as advertised

SILVERTHORNE – Don’t expect a massive fireworks show during tonight’s 8 p.m. display at the new Silverthorne Target.

While Target representatives said on KYSL Friday morning that the grand opening display includes $300,000 in fireworks, fire officials say it’s actually only $5,000 worth. The show should last about five minutes, said Lake Dillon

Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Berino.

Local Target officials said the grand opening plans were made at the corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, and Silverthorne employees weren’t given details on them.
