Task force seizes 66 pot plants

SUMMIT COUNTY – The Summit County Drug Task Force located and seized 66 marijuana plants inside a home south of Breckenridge earlier this week.On Saturday, the task force obtained information on a marijuana growing operation at 234 Carroll Lane in unincorporated Summit County. A search warrant was issued for that address and the task force, along with law enforcement officers from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the Silverthorne and Breckenridge police departments, entered the house. They found 66 marijuana plants in various stages of growth inside. No one was home at the time.Eric Lee Burns, 41, turned himself in to the jail on Tuesday morning. He was arrested for cultivation of marijuana, an offense for which he was arrested on Jan. 19, 2000.Burns remains in the Summit County Jail with a $25,000 bond.
