On Saturday, June 7, the Team Summit mountain bike team completed its third annual cookie fundraiser.
The fundraiser aims to raise money for the youth program while also serving as an opportunity for team members to grow closer to one another. This year, funds specifically went towards the team’s end-of-season camp trip and celebration.
Summit County community members placed orders throughout the month of May before team members baked the cookies at Cool River Coffee House in Breckenridge. Once the cookies were baked, the group of young cyclists then loaded up backpacks to hand deliver the orders via bike.
In total, 300-plus cookies were made by youth cyclists which were then delivered over the course of a 15-mile route.
Mountain Dweller Coffee in Frisco also opened its door to the team for a cookie and recovery shake table. The addition of the post-bike ride fundraiser helped the team raise an additional $250.
By the completion of the fundraiser, $1,250 had been raised.
