Team Summit thanks Keystone

Thank you to Keystone mountain operations for nearly two weeks of flawless ski racing in the new Go Devil race arena in January.

Nearly 400 racers tallied more than 1,500 runs, taking advantage of excellent grooming, solid snowpack and impressive course conditions during the Smartwool Downhill Series and the Rocky Mountain Division Junior 3 Super-G Qualifier, in nine days of exciting alpine racing.

Together with the financial participation of the Summit Foundation, Keystone Resort has committed time, personnel, resources and enthusiasm to needed course and safety upgrades on Go Devil.

Team Summit thanks all those involved, from the early season efforts of the snowmakers to the race-day efficiency of the race department.

We particularly thank Chuck Tolton, director of mountain operations, for his always forward thinking, and his crew of outstanding ski racing enthusiasts: Tom Breslin, base operations; Roxanne Fairchild, lift operations; Jeff Hill, ski patrol; Bill LeClair, snowmaking; Jim Monroe, grooming; Jay Sowers, race department; and Nathan Lawrence, Mountain House food and beverage.

In conjunction with the efforts of our good neighbors at the U.S. Forest Service, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Breckenridge Ski Resort and Copper Mountain Resort, Team Summit is really enjoying the evolution.

We look forward to many exciting years of safe, fast and fair ski racing at Keystone.

– Amy E. Critz, Team Summit executive director
