Team Tatro gathers for 4th year in local MS Walk

DILLON ” Team Tatro is one of many teams and individuals who will walk in the local MS Walk along the eastern shore of Dillon Reservoir on May 12 from 9-11:30 a.m. The team was formed in 2004 by Cheryl Tatro and her family as a lasting tribute to her husband, Bill, a long-time local who died in September 2003 from complications related to Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.

The walk supports Summit County locals and other Coloradans with MS. One in every 580 state residents has the disease, giving Colorado one of the highest incidence rates in the country. Twelve MS walks throughout the state will help fund ground-breaking research and client programs that help thousands of people living with MS and their families.

Team Tatro had more than 75 walkers last year and was awarded a “Silver Team” plaque for being one of only a few “friends and family” teams in Colorado to raise over $10,000. Anyone interested in joining the team may register or donate through the Colorado chapter’s website,, or by contacting Cheryl Tatro at (970) 453-2339, P.O. Box 2917, Breckenridge, CO 80424. Those registering or donating through the website should note that they are supporting Team Tatro.

Those interested in walking with Team Tatro may register the day of the walk at the “Crow’s Nest” tent near the Dillon Marina from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. There is no registration fee, but donations of any amount are welcome. Walkers may choose to walk 4 or 8 miles (or any distance in between). Kids and dogs are welcome. The walk will be preceded by breakfast and followed by lunch provided by local restaurants and grocery stores. In addition, all walkers will be able to participate in a raffle for numerous prizes donated by local merchants.
