Team up for Silverthorne’s Tug of War contest

Non-profit and government agencies have an opportunity to win $200 in a good old fashioned Tug of War contest, sponsored by the Town of Silverthorne. The event will occur on two dates, beginning this weekend on Saturday, July 21 at 4 p.m. as part of the Mountain Community Fair festivities. The second pull for finalists will occur on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 3:30 p.m. at Rainbow Park in Silverthorne, as part of the Town’s 40th Birthday Celebration. There is a nominal $50 entry fee. Only five members per team. The tournament rules require that the same team members pull in both contests. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to assemble a team and pull on behalf of a nonprofit as well. The first place winner will earn $200 for his or her favorite non-profit organization and all other proceeds will benefit the Mountain Community Fair and the Blue River Restoration Project. Please contact Maggie Butler at (970) 262-7390 or to secure your team today. What a great way to stir up some community spirit and summer fun!
