Keystone Science School and Summit Fire & EMS are partnering with TEDxBreckenridge to host a talk about the “surprising science” of how wildfires shape the ecology of forests.

Summit Fire fuels specialist Hannah Ohlson will present about why forests evolved to burn, how they affect the forest ecology and how experts balance the benefits of fire with protecting people and property from their destruction.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at the Silverthorne Pavilion, with the talk starting at 6 p.m. A Tickets cost $10, and a small-group discussion will follow Ohlson’s talk.
