Teenagers host auction to pay for Harvard trip

The Summit Independent Forensics Society is heading to Harvard University and needs the community’s help. The group, composed of eight high school debaters, is traveling to Harvard on Feb. 17 to compete in a national tournament. To help defray the cost of their expenses, the teenagers are holding an afternoon of auctioning at Downstairs at Eric’s in Breckenridge on Sunday from 4 -7 p.m. There will be a silent auction with items donated by local businesses and a teenager auction, where members of the society will be auctioned off to come to the winners’ homes and do housework. The teenager auction begins at 6 p.m. Come bid, eat at Eric’s and receive free dessert made by the society. To donate auction items or for more information, call Tara Hall at (970) 453-2599 or (970) 485-1943 or Macaela Holmes at (970) 453-1264 or (970) 485-1636.
