Texas man dies in Breckenridge

A man from Texas died at the Breckenridge Medical Center of suspected natural causes at 12:30 p.m. Monday, according to a report from the Summit County Coroner.

Seventy-year-old James Peery of Houston was taken to the Breckenridge Medical Center from his second home in Blue River after he went into cardiac arrest on the way to the Summit Medical Center.

Peery, who had a history of medical problems, arrived in Summit County Sunday, according to the coroner’s report.

Coroner Joanne Richardson said his death was “consistent with natural circumstances,” although a toxicology report and medical chart review will be necessary to determine cause of death.
