Thank you for supporting Read Across America

The Summit School District Literacy Resource Team

On Thursday, March 2, schools across Summit County celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss by participating in the nationwide event, Read Across America. Students and parents took part in this event in a variety of ways, but our main intent was to enjoy the whimsical nature of Dr. Seuss’ classic books. Our appreciation goes out to the following businesses and individuals for making our event so successful. We thank Hamlet’s Bookshop of Breckenridge, Wal-Mart and Target for donating books; Lyza Bracket and the food services staff for orchestrating and baking birthday cakes; the Summit Middle School PTSA for sponsoring the middle school event; Corina Crotty from Silverthorne Elementary for spearheading ordering hundreds of hats; the parents, staff members and students that took part in Read Across America.
