Thank you for the support

Tim Theis

I would like to thank all of the people who supported my bid for re-election and took the time and effort to vote on April 2. During my campaign, I had the opportunity to speak with more than 400 citizens about their concerns and desires for our town. I enjoyed the many conversations I had, and am heartened to know that so many of the people of Silverthorne are eager for progress on our new school, day-care center, town center, “Main Street” on Adams Avenue, and even the much-contested grocery store.

While I fell short of success, I was proud of the efforts of my team and the manner in which we conducted our campaign, which did not require the services of our busy Silverthorne police department. I am proud of my work on behalf of the citizens of Silverthorne and the many accomplishments of the town council over the past four years. I believe Silverthorne will benefit for many years to come from the work done on the comprehensive plan, parks and trails, pavilion, library and many other projects.

I will miss my four-year association with my fellow council members, but look forward to exercising my First Amendment rights on each alternating Tuesday and Wednesday in the months ahead. I invite all other concerned Silverthorne citizens to join me in the grass-roots democratic process of the public work sessions and council meetings, which are always open to us. I encourage each citizen to become an informed, responsible and participating electorate for the betterment of our community.
