Thank you to FDRD volunteers

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

Friends of the Dillon Ranger District would like to thank Frisco, Summit Cove, and the National Wildlife Federation volunteers who joined our Forest Clean Up and Tree Replanting projects on May 17. These 51 volunteers and 1 Forest Service employee generated 216 hours of volunteer stewardship for our National Forest lands. They replanted 152 lodgepole pine seedlings, pulled approximately 2,000 false chamomile noxious weed species, and collected 27 bags of trash, 10 bags of recycling, and one discarded refrigerator.

These efforts provide for a more pleasing experience for future users in these popular recreation areas. For more information on FDRD, please contact Scott Ferguson at fdrd.ferguson@gmail.com or (970) 262-3449.
