Thanks for an Olympic-sized effort

C.J. Mueller, president, Breckenridge Elite Athletes Foundation

Breckenridge Elite Athletes Foundation would like to send an Olympic-sized thank you to everyone who contributed to our fundraising effort to help Katie Uhlaender pay for her out-of-pocket expenses as a member of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Skeleton Team. We had a great turnout at the party on Jan. 24, and we received many contributions in the mail.Special thanks to Eric Mamula and the entire crew of Downstairs at Eric’s, to Johnny Brokaw and KSMT (The Mountain) FM 102.3 Radio, to Krystal 93 KYSL FM Radio, and to Devon O’Neil and the Summit Daily News. These four local businesses have given so much, for so long, to our community. Warren Miller Entertainment provided the movie “Higher Ground” at no charge. Marty Lessow gathered a huge amount of raffle prizes from Spyder, Obermeyer, Burton and Marty’s for Kids. Swany (gloves), Downstairs at Eric’s, and Omni Real Estate also donated raffle items. Thanks to Marty, Betsy, Sandi, Mary, Matt, Erin, Joe, and Melina and her friends.Katie’s event is Feb 16th at 9:30 a.m. Summit County time for the opening round and 10:30 a.m. our time for the finals. Send her a positive thought that morning and let’s see if we can help her bring home a medal. Please call (970) 453-2891 if you would like to donate.
