Dear Peggy Dames, I miss you, as probably all of the Summit Cove residents miss their wonderful mail delivery lady for these past years. You knew everyone here by name, their children, and I swear even the names of their dogs. You did not just deliver the mail, but went far beyond and above that with your smiles, friendly chats and encouragement. How often I would find a lollypop in my mailbox with a “get well” note from you when I was sick. And who could forget the packages you would bring after-hours when you could tell they were from our daughter in California and were too big to put in our mailbox. I know I was not the only one who got this special treatment. There were many others who would also like to be remembered by you. This thank-you note is months overdue, but it’s never too late to wish you the very best of everything and good luck – wherever you may be.
