Thanks for giving to our soldiers

Susan AndersonBreckenridge

It is with the deepest appreciation and gratitude that I would like to thank Walt and Sue Mueller, the Summit County Rotary, and all those who have donated items to the soldier’s care packages. For many years, Walt has put into action his continued commitment to supporting our troops, our local soldiers half a world away fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has supported my son in all three of his deployments. It is no small thing that over the years Walt has quietly, and without fanfare, sent hundreds of boxes to the good guys defending our freedom and working to make our world a better and safer place. Since they share their boxes with each other, Walt has been able to touch many lives with his generosity and kindness. It is important that these brave men and women in uniform know their fellow Americans care and appreciate their service and sacrifice because as we all know “Freedom isn’t free.”George Washington said: “The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, will be directly proportional to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.”
