On Dec. 11 and 12, the select choirs of Summit High School were featured in the Sixth Annual Old English Madrigal Feaste at the Elk’s Lodge. This delightful evening of feasting and song was made possible through the donations, talents and plain old hard work of many of our community members. Bobby Knorr of the Elk’s Lodge was an incredibly accommodating host, Chris Rybak, of Keystone, and Annie and Travis Holton worked the kitchen, Lisa Rappleye masterfully headed the decorations team, Alpine Bank graciously provided advertising, graphics, posters, and tickets were artfully designed by Julie Hedman, and last, but not least, Chris Alleman, of the Lake Dillon Theatre was our noble king. This list is not exhaustive, unlike the effort (pun intended) and omits many other unique and individual efforts by students, parents and friends which combined to make the event a success. Through your hard work and creativity, we raised nearly $7,000 toward the choirs’ February trip to Germany, Prague and Vienna! I am proud to be a part of this amazing event which has grown each year, and which may be Summit County’s best kept holiday secret.
