Summit County Advocates for Victims of Assault

The Advocates for Victims of Assault would like to thank High Country Radio, Doo Wop Denny, Pug Ryan’s and the Tiki Bar for their most recent support of our organization. On Tuesday, Aug. 17, High Country Radio and Doo Wop Denny sponsored a fundraiser for the Advocates for Victims of Assault at the Tiki Bar in Dillon. The weather was cold and rainy and the turnout was wonderful. We believe this was due in large part to the faithful listeners of High Country Radio and Doo Wop Denny. The Advocates made over $800 toward helping victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, grief and trauma. Our organization is facing difficult times and may potentially lose our battered women’s shelter as a result of federal and state cuts to funding for victims of crime. Community support is imperative in order for our organization to continue providing services to victims in our community. We are very grateful to the people at High Country Radio, Doo Wop Denny, Pug Ryan’s and the brave souls that came out in the rain for their contributions to our efforts. Thank You Summit County!
