Thanks from the Dwight Brill Memorial Fund

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Dwight Brill “Celebration of Life” Memorial Fund, I would like to thank the community, our sponsors and the employees of the Breckenridge Ski Resort for helping our small nonprofit raise more than $9,400 during our annual fundraiser on March 3.Specifically, I’d like to thank Breckenridge Ski Resort and Chief Operating Officer Roger McCarthy, the Bergenhof restaurant staff, The Summit Foundation, the Summit Daily News, Breckenridge Brewery and Southern Distributions. In addition, I would like to thank fellow community members and employees for attending the fundraiser and helping to contribute to a very worthwhile cause. Many thanks to those individuals, business owners and business managers who donated numerous enticing silent auction items, helping us to meet our financial goal. Finally, a special thanks to Kathy Angotti for her vision, inspiration and compassion that drove this fund to be the success it has become. This year’s event was a huge success with 250 people attending a Mexican fiesta at the Bergenhof Restaurant at Peak 8. The money raised during the annual fundraising dinner will be combined with donations received throughout the year to provide financial support and other services to Breckenridge Ski Resort employees faced with a crisis. Each year allocations are distributed to employees based on applications. The applications are received and evaluated by the board of directors. More than $65,000 has been raised in the first six years of the program, and more than $55,000 has been distributed to employees in need. The Dwight Brill “Celebration of Life” Memorial Fund is a nonprofit, self-funded entity operating under the guidance of The Summit Foundation.
