The most-asked question:Where is Breckenridge?

Barbara FlitcraftFrisco

After working eight years at the Summit County Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center in Frisco, I cannot walk out the door without saying a word or two to the community. This has been a job I have so thoroughly enjoyed that saying goodbye is indeed very difficult. I have looked forward each day to going to work. Chamber members opened their doors, provided trips and tours, so my colleagues and I could be knowledgeable in order to let our visitors know the best places to go, what to do, and how best to enjoy their visit to Summit County. We at the Information Center have answered a million questions and solved many problems for our guests. Three of the most asked questions have been:1. Where is Breckenridge?2. Where is Main Street, Frisco?3. What is there to do here? With a smile, directions and a Summit County map, all inquiries were answered. We also helped organize family reunions and weddings. The use of our restroom facilities has always been on top of the “helpful list” as well! The chief operations officer for Breckenridge Ski Resort, Roger McCarthy, stated that it would not fund the Summit County Chamber this year, and is looking to bring people into the county “with our own marketing efforts through the support of the Breckenridge Resort Chamber.” My experience shows that no amount of advertising in national magazines, newspapers, or the Internet can replace the information given by a smiling, dedicated, real-life person at the Frisco and Silverthorne visitor centers. It has been a pleasure and honor to have worked with and for the Summit County Chamber of Commerce and its members. Thank you, thank you. My sincere best wishes for a profitable summer to you all.Barbara FlitcraftFrisco
