The Summit Foundation announces grant deadline

The Board of Trustees of The Summit Foundation will be reviewing applications for funding from organizations submitting requests by noon on Friday, March 16 2007. Any organization planning to submit an application must request the current funding and application guidelines by calling (970) 453-5970 or contacting the foundation at tsfadmin@summitfoundation.org. Applications are available by mail, fax or email and on the foundation’s website at http://www.summitfoundation.org. First-time applicants are asked to contact Lee Zimmerman at the foundation prior to submitting a grant request. Requests are accepted from Summit County nonprofit organizations that are tax exempt under the provisions of Section (501)(c)(3) and 170 (b)(1)(A)(i.V.I.) of the Internal Revenue Code.The Summit Foundation supports organizations that enhance the quality of life for residents and guests of Summit County. Those organizations providing programs or services in the areas of art and culture, health and human service, education, environment and sports are eligible for funding consideration. The Board will only fund specific projects that have measurable results. The Foundation will not participate in a political campaign on behalf of any issue or candidate. Additionally, the foundation does not fund religious programs, institutions and/or organizations. Since 1986, 1031 grants totaling more than $8.6 million have been awarded to more than 1,200 cultural, humanitarian and social service, educational, environmental and sport projects and special events initiated by 225 local and neighboring community nonprofit groups.
