Theater class starts Thursday

Colorado Mountain College and Backstage Theatre team up to offer an enhanced night of entertainment Saturday. 

This two-part musical workshop explores the exciting, theatrical process of taking a script from “page” to “stage.” Part one includes lecture and discussion concerning Tom Jones’ and Harvey Schmidt’s “The Fantasticks.” Topics include the play’s history, themes, characters and spectacle, as well as the specific characteristics of the Backstage Theatre production.

Part two includes a live viewing of the play, followed by a discussion with the actors and director. Instructors will include Backstage Theatre cast members and Christopher Willard.  

Course costs $35, including a theater ticket.  

The workshop runs from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge; show and discussion take place from 7-10 p.m. at the Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge.
