There are 12 candidates, not two

John E. Roberts Frisco

In reference to several recent letters about not voting, I have a solution not yet mentioned.Over the years, I voted Democratic or Republican depending on the candidate or issues, but never felt that either party was a good fit to my beliefs. Twenty or so years ago, I was so unhappy with both that I went to the library and read the party platforms of all the political parties in the United States. There were 12 on our ballot this year.Fortunately, there was at least one that quite closely matched my beliefs (Libertarian in my case). Ever since, I have been able to vote my principles instead of wasting my vote on one of the corporate-sponsored “big two.” I urge you to check out the other 12 parties for a better fit to what you believe.
