FRISCO As of the second state-mandated reporting deadline for the political groups supporting or advocating against a proposed Home Depot in Frisco, the numbers continue to rise for all three groups.A total of $35,942 has been raised, 91.5 percent of which has been spent. In all, $21,100 has been raised to support the measure and $14,842 has been gathered to defeat it. The single largest donor, REA Development, the firm which would build the Home Depot, gave $20,000 to the Friends for Friscos Future, a pro-Home Depot group. REA donations make up 94.8 percent of the committees funds, contributing more in one check than the other two organizations have raised from more than 125 donors in total. With three days remaining between the final reporting deadline and the election, $3,463.39 of the groups funds remained unspent. The Frisco Business Alliance again spent funds to support its fellow anti-big box group, the Citizens Against Home Depot, shelling out 61.7 percent of its total earnings to the organization. The final reporting deadline for the committees is Jan. 12, but spending will likely end Tuesday, when voters decide the issue at the polls.Mike Morris can be reached at (970) 668-3998, ext. 13628, or at
