Three arrested in Brighton medical-pot bust

BRIGHTON – A Brighton chiropractor and two other people have been arrested for distributing marijuana after police say 100 people gathered at a makeshift medical-marijuana dispensary.

Sgt. Jim Gearhardt of the North Metro Drug Task Force says the chiropractic office in Brighton was set up as an “assembly line to give out marijuana prescriptions” with a doctor and a caregiver. And patients were paying $100 each to get in.

When police arrived, the prescribing doctor fled. Officers smelled pot smoke and arrested a chiropractor and his wife, and the caretaker.

Police declined to give the names of those arrested until they finished the investigation.

Gearhardt say Brighton has a ban on medical-marijuana dispensaries.
