Three cheers for Deb Edwards

It’s impossible to know all of the backstory behind the Summit Foundation board’s decision to find a new executive director. The “front story” is a lot more clear: For 22 years, Deb has tirelessly worked for the Summit County community through her position with the Foundation, and all of us owe her a great many thanks. There’s no way to calculate the enormous contributions Deb has made, many of which were done not behind a desk but out in the community. “Omnipresent” is the word that comes to mind when it came to community events and Deb Edwards: The woman just seemed to be everywhere, always with the same big smile and determination to add whatever she could to whatever was going on.I know I join a great many members of the Summit County community when I say I wish Deb the best, and earnestly hope there’s another place for her here in the county where she can put her skills, knowledge and experience to use.
