Three elected to Lake Dillon Fire Protection District Board

Voters on Tuesday elected Jim Cox, Jerry Peterson and Rob Sollenberger to four-year terms of the Lake Dillon Fire Protection District Board of Directors.

LDFPD Board President Tom Hill, who has served the district and its predecessors for the past 15 years, found himself the odd man out for the three available seats.

Cox and Sollenberger will be newcomers to the Board, while Peterson, who has been involved with the various incarnations of the fire department since 1963, won re-election. After the results are certified by the canvas board, the three directors will be sworn in at the next Board meeting, at 7 a.m. on May 18 at the Silverthorne fire-administration station.

The five-member Board of Directors is the policy-making body for the fire district, which encompasses more than 400 square miles in northern Summit County and operates on an $8 million annual budget primarily comprised of property taxes. Board members are not paid for their services.
