The 17th annual Tim McClure Memorial Benefit for the High Country Conservation Center, formerly the Summit Recycling Project (SRP), returns to the Bergenhof Restaurant at the Base of Peak 8 at Breckenridge Ski Resort today.The event, which honors recycling visionary Tim McClure, starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for kids. Admission price includes an Italian dinner buffet, live music and a silent auction with a green products showcase. Beer from the Dillon Dam Brewery and wine will also be available at the event. This year’s benefit will feature a special lineup of local musicians including Nancy Cook, Doc PJ and Friends (Matt Krane, Moose and Kudzoo Mike), The O’Smiths, Ed Billeaud, Mike Fauth, The Mountain Gypsy Tribe Belly Dancers, the Swing Crew (featuring Dennis Reifsteck), Mary Morley, Barbara Pons, Chuck Pierce and Richie and Faith from Alma.All funds raised from the event support the waste reduction and resource conservation programs of the High Country Conservation Center, including the Summit Recycling Project, the Summit Green Building Project and new energy conservation programs to be launched this year. “I think Tim would be amazed and proud of where the organization he founded has gone, and where it’s going,” Carly Wier of the SRP said. “And on this special night I think we all remember how blessed we were to have Tim in our community.”For more information about the event, call (970) 668-5703.
