Tin Shop artist focuses on the abstract

BRECKENRIDGE – Eliza Martin from Scottsville, VA., a painter, is the guest artist at the Tin Shop in Breckenridge and will be at the studio located behing the Barney Ford House through the weekend. Her open hours are noon to 5 p.m. Martin recently left her job as an art teacher to pursue a full-time career in art.During her stay she has been sketching visitors’ portraits. Martin said she hopes to be able to get enough for a show, which she would bring back to Breckenridge once completed.The watercolor, oil and acrylic painter (and photographer) often works on an abstract level with her art. She described abstract art as “getting inspiration from something that exists in reality and abstracting it.”
