TIPS server training offered Monday

The Summit Prevention Alliance will be sponsoring a TIPS class 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday in the North Branch Library at Silverthorne for servers and sellers of alcohol.TIPS, or Training for Intervention ProcedureS, is a one-day class focused on preventing over serving, sales to minors and drunk driving. By teaching how alcohol is absorbed into the blood stream, behavioral cues that indicate progressive levels of intoxication, and intervention techniques to assist servers in handling difficult situations, TIPS can help prevent owners and staff from damaging lawsuits.TIPS is recommended for anyone working in the restaurant, bar, hospitality, or alcohol sales areas.The course costs $20 and advanced registration is required.
