Wassail Days

Frisco, Dec. 6-14

All Day, Main Street in Downtown. There are many Wassail traditions throughout the world, but in Frisco, Wassail Days is an holiday experience for people looking for unique shopping and a slowed down version of holiday celebrations. Shoppers can buy a commemorative Wassail mug from participating merchants and at the Frisco/Copper Information Center located on 3rd and Main. Take your mug from shop to shop and taste each merchant’s interpretation of Wassail. At the end of your shopping, vote for your favorite Wassail.

Book and Bake Sale

Frisco, Dec. 6

Noon, Main Branch – Summit County Library, 0037 County Road 1005. The book sale starts on Friday, from Noon to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Items in the sale include fiction and non-fiction books, cds, dvds and music. Please contact the Main Library (970) 668-5555 if you can volunteer or donate baked goods.

The Nutcracker Suite & Holiday Showcase

Keystone, Dec. 6

3:30 & 6:30 p.m., Warren Station Center for the Arts, 164 Ida Belle Drive. The Summit School of Dance and the CO. Motion Dancers present the Nutcracker Suite. The troupe takes you on a magical adventure showcasing the most popular sounds of Tchaikovsky. Parents and kids are also welcome to join in the Holiday Showcase, starring community singers and a jingle bell parade. Performance tickets are just $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages twelve and under. Children five and under are free. Proceeds benefit the CO Motion Dancers. (970) 423-8996.

Full Moon Snowshoe Party

Breckenridge, Dec. 6

4:30 p.m., Gold Run Nordic Center, 200 Clubhouse Drive. Join us for a guided, evening snowshoe, under the full moon. Explore the evening forest, the night sky, and search for nocturnal animals guided by staff and the moonlight. Post tour, come back inside for socializing and a light meal. Cost is $25 and includes snowshoes. Children are 50% with paying adult (one child per paying adult). (970) 453-1734.

Santa at the Ford

Breckenridge, Dec. 6

5:30 p.m., Barney Ford Victorian Home, 111 East Washington Ave. As part of the Lighting of Breckenridge, children of all ages are welcome to come visit with Santa and tour the museum decorated for a Victorian Christmas. Santa may even have candy canes to share with the good boys and girls.
