Leadville Boom Days Festival

Leadville, Aug. 7-9

2 p.m. (Aug. 7), 7 a.m. (Aug. 8) and 9 a.m. (Aug. 9), Downtown Leadville. Leadville was one of Americas longest-lived and bawdiest boomtowns during the gold and silver heydays of the 1880s, and its pulling out all of the stops for a three-day celebration of its heritage. This Colorado festival offers entertainment and activities that range from mining competitions, a rod and gun show and live music to a street fair with historical re-enactments, shootouts and appearances by Old West characters.
