Today’s top five things to do in Summit County

Instructors at Breckenridge Recreation Center follow a plan to introduce new swimming and water safety skills that are developmentally appropriate for infants and young children. In Parent and Child Swim, great experiences and fun activities are provided to teach children to be comfortable and safe in and around the water, while parents learn how to hold and support your child in the water. Drop-in fee is $6 per class; 10:45 a.m.

9 p.m., Barkley Ballroom, 610 Main St. The Winter Wondergrass pre-party features a ticket giveaway for the festival plus two bluegrass bands. Free.

Breck Ascent Series Race

Breckenridge, Jan. 13

6:15 a.m., South Gondola Parking Lot, Watson. Participate in long course (ascents & descents) or short course (ascent only). Use any means to get up the mountain whether it be snowshoes, nordic skis, telemark or AT setups. Skis or a snowboard are required to come back down to the finish line.
