Art Around the World with Ashlie: Russia – Faberge Eggs

Breckenridge, March 30

3:30 p.m., Quandary Antiques Cabin, 131 South Ridge St. Faberge Egg art is an incredible part of Russian history. Children ages seven and up will learn how artists create their intricate designs on delicate eggs and recreate their own on wooden eggs. $20, includes all materials.

Gold Miner’s Snowshoe Hike

Breckenridge, March 30

10 a.m., Iowa Hill Trailhead, Airport Road. Enjoy an easy guided hike through the historic Iowa Hill mine site, which takes you past mining artifacts and interpretive signs. Lean what life was like as a miner in the late 1800s and visit a restored miners’ boardinghouse. Weather permitting; Reservations required.

11 a.m., Breckenridge Welcome Center, 203 S Main St. This enlightening orientation will provide the 411 on where to eat, shop and play in town interspersed with intriguing facts about historic Breck. This is a must-do event if you are new to town, or just want a better handle on where the gondola is, where to grab lunch with the kids, where to get your Breck souvenirs, and of course, where to go learn about the wonderfully rich history of this charming town.
