Tom Dodd: We need more people with guns

Diane Sylvain wasted and entire column of your paper. “The trouble with guns” showing that she doesn’t do her home work. She shoots from the hip. After telling about various gun accidents and incidents, she assumes that after the Tucson insane murders that “probably more people will carry guns” (a fair assumption). Diane then refers to Hollywood movies, visualizing “a quick thinking hero who pull a gun at just the right instant and prevents a blood bath.” Then she shows her lack of Googlability: “Maybe that sort of thing happens all the time in real life but I doubt it.”

Google it, it happens all the time Diane. is just one such source. These are not incidents that the major news media enjoy covering but that does not mean it doesn’t happen often. Major blood baths are over and done with usually within 11 minutes or less according to historical data. The trouble with guns is that not enough (trained) men and women carry them daily.
