Tornado spotted at Denver International Airport

A tornado at Denver International Airport was confirmed by radar at 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service confirmed.

A tornado warning was issued for northeastern Denver County and western Adams County, but expired at 2:45 p.m.

DIA passengers took shelter in restrooms, stairwells and other interior areas, but they later were given the all-clear and began streaming back into the main terminal areas, airport spokesman Heath Montgomery said.
