Total real estate sales – Week of October 9, 2010

For 10 of the last 11 months, more properties have sold in Summit County than in the same month in the previous year. This year will probably not replace ’09 as the worst year for sales since 1988. Year to date, resale prices are down less than 4 percent from last year. Recent weeks have brought multiple offers (remember those?) on the best bargains, indicating that prices are close to where the market feels they should be.

There were a total of 2,513 properties listed for sale last week as the inventory continues to decline.

Real Estate Fact of the Week

$489,000 – average resale price to date in 2010

15.5% – increase in number sold to date in 2010
