Town of Breckenridge should address dog poo

Jan KreisTuscon, Ariz.

The recent letters regarding the dog poop problem in Frisco should be cause for Breckenridge to take a close look at themselves. We are seasonal (winter and summer) visitors to Breckenridge. We rent a home, so we can enjoy the feeling of being a part of the community. During our February visit, we did a day of snow shoeing on the Boreas Pass Rd. For the first mile or so, it was like walking through a dog poop mine field. What a beautiful journey down the road; if one could get past the first part. It is hard to rationalize the reasoning behind people that take their dogs with them while they enjoy the beautiful countryside; only to allow their animal to fool up the environment. What disregard that person has for everyone including themselves. Boreas Pass Road is just one area. During our stay, we took several walks in the neighborhood only to encounter the same dog poop situation. Dog poop within the city and surrounding areas is not just unsightly but is a Health Issue. No doubt the town of Breckenridge has many issues to address; my hope is that proper containment of dog poop may be one.
