FRISCO – The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States has awarded the Town of Frisco with a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report.

According to town spokeswoman Amy Stoehrmann in an e-mail, a formal award presentation will be set at an upcoming town council meeting, though a date hasn’t been set.

According to the town, the certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting -it represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“There is a lot of teamwork within the Town of Frisco, and this is clearly illustrated in the finance department,” said finance director Bonnie Moinet. “It’s my pleasure working with such a great group of talented and professional people. Without their help, we could not have achieved this recognition.”

The Governor’s Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association that serves roughly 17,500 government finance professionals.
