Treasures abound at Riverwalk on Tuesday

Find treasures galore at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center Kidz Calliope Series as the Arvada Center for the Arts presents “Treasure Island” at 7 p.m. Tuesday.The Arvada Center for the Arts will present an interactive, adventurous and humorous adaptation of this classic story as they select members of the audience to act out specific roles. The volunteers are outfitted with costumes, props and a few simple lines as the audience helps the storyline from their seats with sound effects, gestures and songs. This group was a huge hit last year with a performance of “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Preceding the performance, join Mountain Top Children’s Museum for an optional, creative workshop ($4) and face painting ($1) at 5:45 p.m.Greta Hanson Maurer, a parent and school volunteer gives “an enthusiastic thumbs up for this great program. The delighted faces and 100 percent participation make for a great experience.”For tickets, group discounts and information call the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center at (970) 547-3100.
