Tree of Memories ceremony tonight
Bristlecone Hospice’s 13th annual Tree Lighting, a tradition of remembering special people with an evening tree lighting ceremony, will be held tonight at Frisco Town Hall at 6 p.m. The tree the organization lights for their celebration is a Blue Spruce located in front of the Frisco Town Hall. The tree will be lit each evening throughout the holiday season. The organization invites the public to honor loved ones by purchasing a symbolic light for the “Tree of Memories,” or a keepsake ornament for your personal tree. The Memorial Ornament for 2005 is a handmade, embossed copper ornament that will include a name on the back in memory of your loved one. These ornaments may be picked up at the Bristlecone office one week after an order form is received. The ornaments will continue to be available for purchase until Dec. 31. During tonight’s event, family and friends will gather in front of the Frisco Town Hall, and a list of the names of those being remembered will be read. Following the ceremony, participants will gather across the street in the Bristlecone office lobby for cookies and warm drinks. Bristlecone Health Services is a nonprofit organization founded to provide a continuum of medical and support services promoting health, independence and education. Its Hospice Program provides support services for the terminally ill patient and their family.
